I’m not sure how else to say this, but I really appreciate everyone’s input and criticism on this project. Please, if you have something to say about recommendations, calling me out on my fuckups, etc, any input would make this project BETTER because it grants me new perspective.
If anyone was wondering why I’m doing a BorgWarner EFR 9174 w/ 0.865 A/R Turbine Housing, I think it’s important to go back to the build details before I started posting on this forum and explain myself a little better. I had envisioned a happy, ultra-responsive 350whp for this car, which in all honesty would be PLENTY of power and an excellent driving experience. That turbo was a T04B w/ U-Trim (54 Trim) Compressor Housing and P-Trim (74mm) Turbine Wheel. When it was matched to this Series 5 FC Turbo II turbine housing, it too became a 0.865 A/R.
BorgWarner was swinging for the fences on the 9174 in which they offered their BEST turbo at a fraction of the cost of the others in their lineup. If you look at their catalog, ALL of the top racers running single turbo setups run it. It truly is that badass and versatile. I got my Aluminum CHRA’d turbo (sans Turbine Housing) for under $1200 w/ tax and shipping. It undoubtedly changed my perception on this build and it’s capabilities. From that, I upgraded to a HUGE intercooler, new brakes, new clutch, new fuel system, etc. It completely changed the tone of the build.
All I’m asking for is criticism and REAL input. Don’t sugar coat a damn thing.
