Got quite a bit done this weekend. Finished cleaning up the under dash wiring (see previous post) after removing that aftermarket alarm. I actually ended up solving an issue I’ve had since I did the SR swap (5 years) that required me to run a separate switch for the cold start signal so now I’m finally back to just a fuel pump kill switch and normal key start.
I picked up a street faction bash bar from a buddy and got it installed. Funny thing is they advertise how well they fit and everything but it actually took a bit of adjustment (hammering) to get it to slide onto the frame rails and clear the bit of the core support behind the headlights because of how the corner bracing is shaped. Its still a sick bash bar and makes it super convenient to jack the car up
Also started painting my roll cage using POR15. I actually screwed up using the drop plastic because the bits between the halo and roof liner ended up sticking to the cage so that was annoying but at least the parts that stuck are going to be covered by the SFI padding. Once I get one last coat (3 total) on today and wait for the paint to dry/cure I’ll be able to start reassembling the interior. This pic was after the first coat so it looks a little light in some spots.
Once the interior is put back together all thats left is to paint and install the rear over fenders, make a proper battery tie down and do an oil change and I’ll be ready for Lone Star Bash in October.
